Receiving
Confirms the supplier delivery, carton count, marks and visible external condition within the agreed warehouse scope.
Quantity checking
May require opening cartons and checking units against an order or packing list. It must be expressly included.
Quality inspection
Checks agreed specifications, samples, packaging and visible defects using a defined inspection method.
Specialized testing
Certification, laboratory analysis and technical performance testing may require an accredited third party.
Why the distinction matters
Clear scope prevents a buyer from assuming that warehouse receipt means every product inside every sealed carton was inspected.
