China car exports retain momentum: verify the capacity behind your order
New September automotive data shows why buyers should distinguish sector demand from the capacity promised for an individual order. Export growth does not establish that a particular factory, production line or sailing is available.
October 12 report: September exports rose year on year
Reuters reported on October 12, citing China Passenger Car Association data, that September car exports rose 73.2% year on year to 923,000 vehicles. Domestic passenger vehicle sales fell 28.1% to 1.63 million units. These are September market figures released in October, not measurements of current shipping space.
Buyer analysis: request order-specific capacity evidence
Ask the supplier to identify the production site, operations still outstanding and agreed inspection checkpoints for your order. Keep confirmed output separate from forecast output. A market-wide export increase cannot verify a promised completion date.
